The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar saw Lionel Messi managing to bag a World Cup for Argentina. For those who are intrigued about what Messi’s journey to the win was like, Apple TV+’s newly announced four-part documentary series will cover the Argentine team captain’s entire Qatar 2022 journey leading up to lifting the trophy.
The untitled documentary is produced by SMUGGLE Entertainment and will feature “exclusive behind-the-scenes access to global superstar Lionel Messi.” The series will take us on a journey to his former club’s home, Paris, his national team’s home, Argentina and where he won the world cup final, Qatar.
Messi, along with his Argentinian teammates, will provide fans with a detailed account of how they managed to bring home the World Cup, including the emotions, preparation, mentality, willpower and other factors that led to it.
The documentary will reveal “rare and unique access before, during and after” the 7-time Ballon D’or winner managed to win the World Cup. It will feature never-before-seen conversations with Messi, his teammates, coaches, and competitors who reveal how Messi impacted the competition, his nation and the entire world. The docuseries will begin from the beginning of Messi’s national team debut to his poetic World Cup final victory.
There is also a chance that Messi might have a revenue-sharing deal with Apple as it is one of the main sponsors of Major League Soccer, and Messi has just transferred over to Inter Miami this season. Messi might share revenue for every MLS Season Pass sold on Apple TV+.
