Apple is rumoured to launch two new iPad Pro models in 2022. Although the tech giant is not known to reveal any information about its upcoming products, a few details about the upcoming Apple iPad Pro have been leaked numerous times. Now, Chinese publication MyDrivers has shared more details about the upcoming tablets along with the renders. As per the report, the next generation iPad Pro models will use a narrow frame design. Overall, the design of the screen is consistent with the new generation of MacBook Pro models. While the MacBook does not have Face ID, the iPad Pro will sport the feature.
As reported earlier, Apple is planning to launch the 2022 iPad Pro with dual-layer OLED. For those who don’t know, most OLED panels use a single slack structure where red, green and blue form one emission layer. Apple wants two stack tandem structures for iPad OLED panels as it stacks two red, green and blue emission layers which doubles the brightness and extends the life of the panel by up to four times.
It is also rumoured that the company will use a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display with 120Hz refresh rate. The report further mentions that the company is likely to use titanium alloy for the frame of the device instead of aluminum.
When it comes to cameras, the report suggests that the company will introduce triple camera setup at the rear along with a LiDAR sensor. It is not yet clear if the camera specifications will be the same as the iPhone 13 Pro models. According to a recent newsletter by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tech giant will launch an entry-level iPad, iPad Air and iPad Pro in the coming year.
Although the newsletter has not revealed any specifications of the upcoming entry-level iPad, it can be assumed that the device will have minor specifications and chip upgrades to maintain the affordability. A report by MacRumors suggests that Apple iPad Air may feature similar specs as seen on the iPad mini. To recall, the Apple iPad mini comes with a A15 Bionic chip along with 5G connectivity.
