NEW DELHI: Apple has released the second beta update for the upcoming iOS 15.2 update. The tech giant has released the update for the developers for testing purposes. This new software update adds a slew of new features. Here’s what is new in this update
Legacy Contacts
With the Legacy Contacts feature some of the trusted persons will be able to access your Apple ID and your data after you die. The trusted contact will be able to access your messages, photos, notes, files, device backups and more. However, the iCloud Keychain password will remain inaccessible. Users will be able to access the Legacy Contacts option from the Settings app.
Find My Lost Item Scanning
Apple is adding a new option in its Find My app. The option called ‘Items That Can Track Me’ allow users to search for nearby items that might be used to track their location. Once activated, the Unknown Items feature can scan everything nearby and will allow users to know if a device that belongs to someone else is nearby. If an item is detected then Apple also gives instructions on how to disable it. Users will also get an “Help Return Lost Items” option.
iPadOS TV app
Apple introduced the new design for the TV app with iPadOS 15. The TV app comes with a sidebar for easy navigation. The iOS 15.2 update brings a dedicated ‘Store’ tab in the TV app which can be used to access movies and TV shows.
Hide My Email
You can use this feature directly from the mail app. At the time of composing an email you just have to select the ‘hide my email’ option and it will then generate a random email address. The feature is available for everyone who has an iCloud+ plan.
Communication Safety
With this latest update, Apple is also enabling the Communication Safety feature in Messages for children. The feature will scan incoming messages on children’s devices for nudity and must be enabled by parents.
