xApple is reportedly developing a new system that ensures to deliver notifications on the device that the user is currently active on. This way, the Cupertino-based tech giant can improve the way notifications are being delivered to the users who are in the Apple products ecosystem. As per a report by AppleInsider, the company has recently submitted a patent that will theoretically help various Apple devices to communicate with each other.
What is Apple’s ‘Auto Switch’ feature?
The company is planning to add a new feature called ‘Auto Switch’ that is designed to communicate between two wearable devices. This feature will allow users to add or pair two different Apple Watches to their iPhones. Moreover, this feature can also detect which Apple Watch is on the user’s wrist. Currently, the Apple Watch is able to detect when users take off their smartwatch and can automatically lock the screen.
This new patent will allow users who own a second Apple Watch to get notifications from the first one. With this upcoming system, all the notifications from the first Apple Watch will be redirected to the second watch if it is paired to the account and the user wears it.
