Apple has announced the date for users to pre-order the 13-inch MacBook Pro that will come powered by the latest M2 chip through the company’s official blog post. The Cupertino-based tech giant introduced the newest generation of Apple Silicon with the M2 chip at the opening keynote of the recently concluded WWDC 2022 event. Apart from the new MacBook Air models, the company also announced the upgraded version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro will also feature the M2 chip.
However, Apple has not shared any information about when the pre-orders for the M2 MacBook Air will begin and the company’s official site mentions that it will start in July. Meanwhile, Apple is not expecting any supply chain delays as pre-orders for the M2 MacBook Pro are said to arrive within a week. Moreover, an update about the 13-inch MacBook Pro was unexpected for some as Apple already has 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros in the lineup.

Currently, Apple’s official website is showing that the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro will be available for pre-order from June 17 at 5:30 pm IST. The site even mentions customers all over the world will start receiving shipments from June 24. The 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro is available on Apple.com, the Apple Store app and at Apple Authorized Resellers. The price of the base model of this device will be $1,299 (roughly around Rs 1,01,300).

The 13-inch display of the Macbook Pro supports peak brightness of up to 500 nits and maintains the same design as the 2020 model. According to Apple, the company’s latest M2 chip is expected to make the new MacBook Pro 40% faster than the one that comes powered by the M1 chip.
The laptop supports up to 24GBmemory and up to 2TB of SSD. The company also promises up to 20 hours of battery life on the new 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro models. The M2 MacBook also features Thunderbolt ports, Wi-Fi 6 and an active cooling system that will help users to take advantage of video and photo editing without the computer losing much power.
