All govt hospitals will come under ehealth project: Kerala CM Pinarayi VijayanTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said with the ehealth project being implemented in all the government hospitals, a queue management system will be introduced to avoid crowding at the OPs.

While speaking after launching the ehealth programme in 50 government hospitals on Monday, the chief minister said the government will ensure that all the government hospitals in the state are networked under the ehealth project.

He said at present it has been implemented in 311 hospitals where this queue management system has been set up. The people can take the appointments of the doctors through the ehealth portal and it will also be easy for the doctors to refer patients to other hospitals. All the health records of the patients can be accessed by the treating doctors sitting in any of the government hospital.

The aim is to provide electronic health card to each individual in the state. This card will store the health data of a person right from birth to death. By networking all the hospitals, the details stored in this electronic health card can be assessed by the doctors from any hospital.

Vijayan said the government has given sanction to launch the ehealth programme in 349 more hospitals. In the last five years, Rs 100 crore has been sanctioned by the government for implementing this programme. Of the total 1,284 hospitals, 707 hospitals will have this facility in the near future.

Health minister Veena George, who was also present on the occasion, said those who want to take appointment in the already networked hospitals can take it online from the https://ehealth.kerala.gov.in portal. Through online booking, the people can chose the time and date for getting the consultation of a doctor.

The OP tickets and token slips can be downloaded from the site. A unique health ID will be issued to the person while taking an appointment. This ID will be the permanent one through which all the treatment details can be assessed anytime. The patient will also be able to download the laboratory reports and medicine prescription from the portal. While registering at the ehealth portal the Aadhaar number of the person should also be given.
