Adventure Time Spinoff Fionna and Cake Gets August Premiere Date

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake will premiere on August 31.

During the Max Original Animation Presents panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, it was revealed that the animated series will premiere on Max at the end of next month. The panel also revealed a trailer for the series, which can be viewed on the official Max Twitter account.

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake was announced back in 2021 and focuses on the titular characters Fiona the human and Cake the cat. Those that watched the original series will remember that both these characters were first introduced in the third season of Adventure Time as the female versions of Finn and Jake.

As previously confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery, Fiona and Cake will “embark on a multiverse-hopping adventure and journey of self-discovery. All the while a powerful new antagonist determined to track them down and erase them from existence, lurks in the shadows.”

Fionna and Cake is the latest in the Adventure Time franchise, following the original series, which concluded in 2018. Alongside the original series, a limited series, Adventure Time Distant Lands ran on Max (then known as HBO Max) from 2020 until 2021.
