Acer has just launched a new 16-inch gaming laptop in India. The Acer Predator Helios 16 boasts of the latest Intel 13th Generation processor with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU. Performance and graphics
The Acer Predator Helios 16 comes equipped with 13th Gen Intel mobile processors. The four variants include i7 13700 HX and i9 13900 HX cores, each with 8 Performance cores and 16 efficient cores. As for the GPU, the Helios 16 features Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 and 4080, depending on the model, along with 8GB or 16 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Together, Acer claims that this latest instalment, achieves speeds up to 5.4 GHz in terms of performance. When it comes to the quality of the graphics, the Nvidia GPUs support both ray tracing and DLSS.
Display
As evident from the title, the laptop comes with a 16-inch display, along with the high resolution of WQXGA 2560×1600, aspect ratio of 16:10, and refresh rates up to 240Hz. Its brightness is as high as 500 nits. Additionally, with the In-Plane Switching technology and the Acer ComfyView LED backlit TFT LCD technology, the display provides impressive visual experiences even in brightly lit environments.
Memory
Upto 32GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM is available in the Helios 16 series, with up to 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD in RAID 0.
Cooling system
This is an important aspect in every gaming laptop, since gaming for long hours can really heat up your system, and reduce its efficiency over time. With the custom-designed 5th Gen Aeroblade 3D Fans, vector heat pipes, and liquid metal thermal grease, Acer claims to have equipped an “advanced cooling technology” to this model, which ensures “seamless performance even during extended gaming sessions.”
PredatorSense Key
It is a one-touch solution to change between different performance modes while using the laptop — Quiet, Balanced, Performance, and Turbo. Balanced and ECO can be used when using the laptop on battery to save power. The Predator Sense Key can also be used to customise the RGB keyboard, to customise the lighting as per your mood and taste.
Pricing
With a starting price of Rs 1,99,990, four models are available with the top variant available at Rs 2,49,990. The Acer Predator Helios 16 is currently available in the market for purchase via the Acer Store.
