Highlights
- Luffy’s defeat by Kaido in the previous episode shocked fans who expected him to emerge victorious.
- Guernica’s distraction played a crucial role in Luffy’s defeat, leaving Kaido unsatisfied with the unfair outcome.
- In the upcoming episode, Kaido’s anger might lead him to confront Guernica before targeting other members of the group.
The previous episode of One Piece was a little hard to digest, as it showcased our beloved Luffy in a state we never expected him to be in. Throughout the battle, there were moments when it seemed to be in Luffy’s favor, but there were also times when Kaido appeared to be winning.
However, deep down, we all knew that Luffy would end up defeating Kaido. But the previous episode proved us wrong, as Luffy can be seen lying unconscious on the floor. Although Luffy is defeated, the distraction created by Guernica was the major reason why Kaido was able to land a direct hit on him.
Kaido surely won, but he’s the kind of man who doesn’t gets satisfied from an unfair battle. The only thing he would have asked for is a fair and square win against Luffy. But with Guernica’s distraction leading to Luffy’s defeat, Kaido is surely mad, and the next episode might see him going against Guernica. And once he tears him into pieces, he will go for other members.

What Happened Previously On One Piece?
The battle between Fukurokuju and Raizo finally ended as Fukurokuju was enveloped in flames in the adjoining hallway and passed out from the heat. Jinbe arrived just in time and utilized Fish-Man Karate to put out the fire before helping Raizo. The scene shifted to Drake, who surprised Guernica and stabbed him with his sword as he tried to reach the rooftop.
Initially having the upper hand, Drake was eventually taken out by Guernica with a dreadful attack, also bringing their long-going battle to an end. After defeating Drake, Guernica kept moving toward the rooftop, determined to carry out his order to eliminate Luffy.
The episode took us back to the rooftop, where Luffy managed to overpower Kaido with his Gear Fourth transformation. But soon, Kaidou swallowed Luffy after changing into his terrifying dragon form, only to spit him out and hit him with a devastating attack. Luffy was on the verge of falling into the ocean as a result of the accident, which sent him hurtling across Onigashima. Luffy was forced to change into his Boundman form in order to save himself.
Knowing the limitations of his Gear Fourth form, Luffy realized his chances of defeating Kaidou with his remaining strength were slim. So he decided to attack Kaido with all he was left with. However, Guernica intervened and distracted Luffy, resulting in the latter taking the full impact of Kaido’s dreadful attack, making him fall unconscious.
