Crunchyroll will stream the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film exclusively on its platform in India starting July 12, 2023. The film will be available for Indian fans in the Japanese language with English subtitles and in Hindi dub as well.
The film serves as the second instalment in the Dragon Ball Super franchise, following the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly in 2018.
Crunchyroll was the distributor in the global theatrical release of the anime film, premiering simultaneously in over 100 countries and featuring 13 different language dubs and 29 subtitled languages. The film achieved success, grossing $96 million worldwide, making it the fourth highest-grossing anime film in the United States.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero holds a special significance for fans of the franchise, as it involves the direct involvement of Akira Toriyama, the original creator of Dragon Ball. Toriyama has contributed to the film’s original story, screenplay, and character design. IGN awarded the film a score of 7 out of 10 in its review, calling it a “a fun, low-stakes love letter to Gohan fans with exciting momentum as well as room for some moving sentimentality amidst earth-shattering fights.”

The official synopsis of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero reveals information about some remnants of the Red Ribbon Army, defeated by Son Goku in the past, have created powerful Androids named Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, who now call themselves “Super Heroes.” These Androids launch attacks on Piccolo and Gohan, raising questions about the New Red Ribbon Army’s objectives. As danger looms, it becomes crucial for the true heroes to awaken.
