For the first time ever, Dell has dropped the price on its flagship Alienware m18 gaming laptop. This particular configuration features an expansive 18″ 1920×1200 480Hz G-SYNC IPS display, the newest Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU, a powerful GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-4800MHz RAM, and a 2TB PCIe SSD. If you’re looking for an absolute monster of a gaming laptop, then you’ll probably be satisfied with these specs.
First Ever Discount on Alienware m18 Gaming Laptop
Intel Core i9 Raptor Lake and RTX 4080 equipped
The Alienware m18 is Dell’s largest gaming laptop. One of the biggest advantages of a larger form factor, besides the bigger screen and keyboard (this one has a full-sized numpad), is the better cooling. The Alienware “Cryo-Tech” cooling system features a large vapor chamber, seven heatpipes, and four slim fans that work in tandem to keep your laptop cool even during intense gaming sessions.
The latest Intel Core i9-13900HX is the most powerful mobile Intel CPU on the market right now. It boasts 24 cores and 32 threads with a maximum boosted clock speed of 5.4GHz. It improves on the previous generation Intel Alder Lake CPU with more cores, a bigger cache, and support for faster RAM. This laptop chip is fast enough to outbench the desktop i9-12900K in Geekbench. That’s pretty impressive.
The RTX 4080 mobile GPU performs about 20%-35% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti mobile. Compared to desktop variants, the mobile RTX 4080 approaches a performance level similar to the desktop RTX 3070 Ti. It’s definitely more than enough power to run games on the native 1920×1200 display at or close to maximum settings. Heck you might be able to get away with ray tracing… on a laptop. RTX 40 series cards also support DLSS 3.0, which is essentially DLSS 2.0 plus frame generation. For games that support it (like Hogwarts Legacy) this is a massive FPS increase over even DLSS 2.0. It’s pretty much a necessity on ray-traced modern games.
