Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has once again become the talk of the town as rumors and reports about its return surface online. It’s almost been a year since the Government of India stepped in to ban the popular smartphone Battle Royale game. Since then, BGMI fans have been waiting for officials to overturn the decision to ban the game.
Over the past few days, several reports have stated that the mobile Battle Royale title might return for a period of three months under strict supervision of the government. While Krafton has yet to acknowledge these reports, a new job listing from the company seems to suggest that these rumors might be after all.
Krafton looking to hire people to test BGMI; details
Recently, Krafton posted a job listing for a QA position in the company’s Seoul office. The job listing in the company’s PG/SQ department wants to expand the team undertaking QA work on Krafton games. This listing specifically mentions both PUBG Mobile and BGMI.
According to the listing the responsibilities for the team include, “BGMI LQA and Events / Paid Testing,” (translated from Korean). It also includes checking for any violations of the policy and taking care of any issues along with stability testing for the UI and UX of the games. The department also does “functional testing” along with “platform integration test” on different games.
The details for the job listing suggest that Krafton might be working on BGMI, as it gears up for a potential release in India soon. Other than that, Krafton has also been on a hiring spree for its Bengaluru office, as seen on the company’s Linkedin profile.
In the end, it will be interesting to see if the rumors were true indeed, as all signs point towards Krafton planning a relaunch for the title, with a potential unban in sight.
