Fast X is all set to arrive in movie theatres on May 19, 2023 and promotions for the film are in full swing. John Cena, who plays Jakob Toretto in the upcoming movie, recently appeared on an American Morning Talk Show where he spoke about how he landed a role in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, John Cena was spotted on the American Morning Show, Today with Hoda & Jenna. Cena had appeared on the show to speak about his upcoming movie, Fast X, but Hoda and Jenna were also able to get some information related to another upcoming movie of his, Barbie, during the interview.
Cena was asked how he managed to land the role as Merman in the film, to which he replied stating that it was a ‘happy accident’. Fast X and Barbie both have an amazing cast list and fortunately both were filming across the street from each other.
Cena managed to meet Margot Robbie, the protagonist and producer for the movie, during that time. Robbie asked him why he wasn’t doing Barbie, to which Cena replied that he was trying to, and he would do whatever was needed. Cena added that he knew that Robbie was an integral part in the decision-making process for the movie.
Furthermore, John Cena also spoke about how he transitioned from being a WWE Superstar to the movie star he is today.
