Activision might be gearing up to showcase the next instalment of its popular FPS franchise, Call of Duty.
Following the massive launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last year alongside the sequel to its battle royale title, Warzone, the franchise is in for an interesting 2023. So far, many have claimed that the series won’t have a mainline title this year, even though Activision has claimed it will have a “full-fledged premium release.”
Let me make this super clear:
– The next game, by Treyarch, is coming out in 2024
– Next year there will be a Modern Warfare II “premium” (paid) expansion by Sledgehammer
– It’s supposed to have lots of content! Maybe that’s why they call it a “full” release. But it’s more MWII https://t.co/jXKAiMFcTf— Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) November 7, 2022
The rumours have mostly suggested that the upcoming title will most likely be an extension of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the game reportedly will be a premium paid expansion with content that can rival those of the franchise’s previous releases.
While Activision has stayed mum on what to expect from the title, Insider Gaming now reports that the American publisher will reveal more about Call of Duty 2023 on August 1. Previously, the publication also detailed key dates for the game, which included the arrival of a beta program in October, and the early access release of the campaign on November 2, with the full release taking place on November 10.
