From Queen Charlotte to Silo, Here Are New OTT Shows Streaming in May 2023

It’s May and as the summer season begins, it is the perfect time to check out what new shows are coming on streaming platforms. May 2023 brings an exciting mix of action, drama, and sci-fi with shows such as Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and Silo premiering on Netflix and Apple TV+ respectively. We also have some interesting Indian OTT series premiering this month. Here are some new show releases in May 2023 that you might want to check out.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story – Netflix

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a prequel spin-off on the popular character Queen Charlotte from the hit Netflix series Bridgerton. This prequel also includes Danbury and Violet Bridgerton, two other popular characters from the main series. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will explore young Queen Charlotte’s love life and her rise to the top, while also giving us a look at the lives of the two grand dames.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story comes out on Netflix on May 4.

Dahaad – Prime Video

Dahaad, meaning roar in English, stars Sonakshi Sinha in her debut OTT role. The Amazon Prime series will follow the story of sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati as she investigates a series of women’s deaths, initially thought to be suicides. As the investigation progresses, Anjali discovers that a serial killer is on the loose, making the case even more complex. Dahaad is also the first-ever Indian web series to have premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Dahaad comes out on Prime Video on May 12.

Ultraman Final Season – Netflix

Ultraman, the popular Netflix anime series based on the manga of the same name, comes to the streaming service for its third and final season in May 2023. The second season saw Rena and Shinjirou vanish after a global mass disappearance event, and the aliens behind it demanded half the planet in exchange for sparing half of the population. Season 3 sees society losing faith in Ultraman after he destroys the city during a nightmare, and the Dark Star organisation posing as a looming threat.

Ultraman Final Season comes out on Netflix on May 11.

Star Wars: Visions: Volume 2 – Disney+ Hotstar

The Star Wars universe is expanding once again in May, with the upcoming release of Visions, a collection of animated shorts that tell non-canon stories from the beloved franchise. Unlike the first season, the latest volume features studios from around the world, including India, South Africa, Ireland, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and France.

Star Wars: Visions: Volume 2 comes out on Disney+ Hotstar on May 4.

Silo: Season 1 – Apple TV+

Rebecca Ferguson stars in this science fiction drama series, which is set in a dystopian future. Ferguson plays Jules in the series, an engineer living in a giant silo and the air outside is toxic. A silo is a tall, cylindrical structure used for storing grain or other materials in bulk. The survivors of this world are forced to follow strict rules, and those who rebel against them are considered dangerous and punished by being sent outside to “clean,” a task they won’t survive.

Silo comes out on Apple TV+ on May 5.

Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo – Disney+ Hotstar

Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo promises to put a new spin on the “saas-bahu” drama sub-genre by featuring “unapologetically hardcore” mother-in-law characters and “steadfast and formidable” younger women. Set in the town of Hastipur, the story revolves around a family drug empire run by matriarch Savitri, her daughters-in-law, Bijli and Kajal, and her daughter Shanta, who use their small textile and balm business as a front for their illegal activities.

Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo comes out on Disney+ Hotstar on May 5.
