Game of Thrones Spin-offs Affected Amidst Reorganisation in WB and HBO Max According to George RR Martin

Game of Thrones is easily one of the biggest television franchises. The riveting narrative created by George R. R. Martin was one of the most successful TV series when it came out and naturally fans wanted more from the franchise. Therefore, the studios started working on spinoffs for the franchise. Fortunately, House of the Dragon, their recently made spinoff has been performing really well.

The sad part is that it seems other future spinoff projects could be at risk due to all the reorganisation that is going on inside HBO Max and Warner Bros. We already seen this issue bleeding into the DC universe, where the studio heads have decided on a complete reboot for the franchise. According to George R. R. Martin, the same issue could hamper the production of GoT spinoff projects too.

Spotted by Screenrant, Martin spread some light on the situation. He stated on his blog that he had taken a few days off, but he is back to working. He added that he is working on so many things that his head might explode. Martin enlisted projects such as Winds of Winter and House of Dragon Season 2. He also spoke about several other successor shows he is developing with HBO.

However, Martin highlighted that some of the shows have been moving faster than others, but none have been greenlit yet. But he feels nothing is out of the picture yet as something that has been off the shelf can easily be put back on. Lastly, he stated that all the changes at HBO Max have impacted them certainly.
