Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023. Just through the trailers and posters, the fans know that they will see more than 30 variants of Spider-Man. They also know that Miles will go on an interdimensional journey to figure out his identity in the world.
In a recent interview with The Direct, the lead character animator, Ere Santos, for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has revealed some intriguing details about the movie. He stated that the team had originally planned an Avengers: Endgame type of ending for the movie and it was going to be two and a half hours long.
Their original approach towards the movie was making it ‘intense, quick, fast-paced, high-energy movie’, but that changed when the team decided to split the movie into two halves. The movie was quite ambitious in the beginning as they were trying to fit two movies into one. It is still ‘super-ambitious’ but there’s a lot more breathing space now.

Now that the movie has been split into two, the team will try to figure out what aspects of the plot they can set up in the second movie that can be resolved in the third one. Even though the movie has been split into two halves, the Endgame-type conclusion is not off the table. Santos said that what the team is planning is still huge. Fans are excited to see what’s in store for them in Across the Spider-Verse and the third movie in the series.
