Over 12,000 students would appear for commerce papers in the first shift. Later in the day, papers of Sanskrit, Literature, and Pali Prakrit are scheduled. All papers would be held online through a web-based link.
Practicals and internal exams have already started from June 15.
Ever since the online exam mode was introduced due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the university had faced one or other technical glitches that included server problems and connectivity issues. It had led to cancellation of the first day’s papers and inconvenience to the examinees.
NU then decided to hold re-exams for such students. In the winter-2020 exams that concluded two days back, NU had conducted two re-exams of the first day’s papers, as several students couldn’t connect to the server due to slow connectivity.
“We’re fully prepared and I don’t think we will face many problems this time. Our winter papers have just concluded and we have hardly faced any difficulties since last two months. Now even students are well aware of the nitty-gritty of the online exams, so they’re expected to not make mistakes,” Board of Examination and Evaluation (BoEE) director Prafulla Sable told TOI.
He added NU had declared over 470 results of the winter-2020 exams so far that includes BSc, BCom, and engineering faculties which account for the largest chunk of students.
The first phase would see final year/semester undergraduate exams from June 29. In the second and third phases, practical exams for final year/semester postgraduate programmes along with a one-year certificate, diploma, and PG diploma would start from July 12, while theory papers would be held from July 19.
The last phase of the PG first year/second-semester papers would commence from September 13 with practical exams and theory papers. NU would be declaring the schedule of the education faculty later.
