Retaining its spot as the world’s top recipient of remittances, migrant workers from India are set to send home a record USD 100 billion in 2022, despite global headwinds like rising prices. In its latest Migration and Development Brief, World Bank said remittance flows to India will rise 12 per cent, putting its inflows ahead of China, Mexico and the Philippines.
India assumes the presidency of the G-20 grouping, the premier forum for international economic cooperation, today. About 100 monuments including UNESCO world heritage sites bearing the G-20 logo will be illuminated for seven days from December 1 to 7 to mark th eoccasion. Th emonumnets include Srinagar’s Shankaracharya temple, Delhi’s Red Fort and Thanjavur’s Great Living Chola temple. During its presidency, India will host 200 meetings across the nations.
