NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Four Mid-South Conference teams are mentioned in the NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced Wednesday.
Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) is the highest-rated team from the conference in the poll at No. 5. The Lions earned 430 points and were 54-6 last season. Freed-Hardeman won both the MSC regular season and tournament titles and made it to the NAIA Softball World Series.
Campbellsville (Ky.) will open the season ranked No. 20. The Tigers earned 208 points after going 38-18 last season and reaching the NAIA Opening Round.
Cumberlands (Ky.) earned 119 points and are slotted 24th. The Patriots finished last season with a 35-16 record.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is mentioned in the receiving votes section of the poll with 64 points.
Oklahoma City sits atop the poll with 498 points and all 18 first-place votes. Mobile (Ala.) is second with 482 points while Science & Arts (Okla.) is third with 464 points. Southeastern (Fla.) is fourth with 442 points.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents).
The first regular season poll is scheduled to come out on Wednesday, March 8.
