When is Genshin Impact 3.1 release date? What new character banners?

In a few days time the Genshin Impact 3.1 patch will launch that adds a range of new character banners plus more. As confirmed during a recent live stream, the Genshin Impact 3.1 release date is scheduled for Wednesday September 28 (or Tuesday September 27 depending on your time zone). The next big Genshin Impact will introduce character banners for new five star characters Cyno and Nilou.

And, it will also help kick-start the second anniversary celebrations with thousands of Primogems available for players to unlock.

Log-in bonuses along with rewards for exploring a new region in Sumeru that 3.1 adds will offer up tens of thousands of Primogems in total.

Genshin Impact 3.1 UK launch: Server downtime begins at 11pm on Tuesday September 27, update playable from 4am Wednesday September 28

Genshin Impact 3.1 European launch: Server downtime begins at 12am on Wednesday September 28, update playable from 5am Wednesday September 28

Genshin Impact 3.1 US launch: Server downtime begins at 3pm pacific time or 6pm eastern time on Tuesday September 27, update playable from 8pm pacific time or 11pm eastern time on Tuesday September 27

In terms of what else to expect from Genshin Impact 3.1, besides Cyno and Nilou there will also be re-runs of Albedo and Venti.

There will also be a new four star character called Nilou.

Alongside it they said: “There is a story circulating among the researchers of the Akademiya:

“Once, a researcher who ran afoul of the Akademiya fled into the desert and fell into a deep sand pit because he was unfamiliar with the harsh environment.

“Thirsty and exhausted, he prayed for a noble savior to save him from his predicament.

“So, the General Mahamatra who has been tracking him responded to his wish.

“Both sides got what they wanted, what a wonderful story.”

Elsewhere, Genshin Impact 3.1 will add five limited time events. These are Of Ballads and Brews, Wind Chaser, Star-Seeker’s Sojourn, Hyakunin Ikki and Path of the Gleaming Jade.

The latter is a sign-in event where you just have to sign-in for seven days. For doing so you’ll get 1,600 Primogems, as well as four Fragile Resin and two in-game items that mark the second anniversary of Genshin Impact.
