Baal Shiv’s Shivya Pathania reveals she was asked to ‘compromise’ by a fake producer

Actor Shivya Pathania is of the belief that she is “blessed with confidence” and she feels “that only [hard] work can get you more work”. However, despite being a part of a beauty pageant and a popular TV show, Pathania wasn’t immune to exploitation. The actor reveals that she went through a low phase in her career when her maiden TV show, Humsafars, got shut down. A lull of eight months accumulated around her. In that phase, the actor, who was recently seen in the music video Fidaa, reveals she came across a phoney guy who offered her work in return for sexual favours.

“I was called for an audition in Santacruz (Mumbai). I entered the room, it was very small,” Pathania recalls, adding, “The guy (who was supposed to be the producer) told me if you want to do this advertisement with a bigger celebrity, you will have to compromise. The funniest part that I will never forget is uske laptop pe Hanuman Chalisa chal rahi thi. It was so funny that mujhe hassi aa gayi. I started laughing. I asked, ‘Aapko sharam nahin aa rahi hai? Aap bhajan (Hindu devotional hymn) sun rahe ho aur aap kya bol rahe ho’,” the Baal Shiv actor divulges.

It was years later when the 31-year-old found out that the man was fake and so was his production house. “I informed all my friends about him, so that they wouldn’t get trapped. I don’t know how he had the guts,” Pathania signs off.
