EA (Electronic Arts) has finally confirmed the arrival of FIFA 22 on the company’s subscription service EA Play. The game will be available for EA Play subscribers for free to download starting next week. The arrival of FIFA 22 on EA Play means that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also be able to play this game for free. FIFA 22 is the latest iteration in EA’s FIFA franchise and was released last year. Currently, FIFA 20 and FIFA 21 are free on EA Play and Xbox Game Pass.
EA Play took to its Twitter account to break the news to players that FIFA 22 will be available on the service on June 23. This will be the full version of the game, unlike the 10-hour trial, which is currently available on the EA Play.
Now that FIFA 22 is coming to EA Play, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can download the game for free on their Xbox or PC starting June 23. However, EA Play comes bundled with the Ultimate tier, so users would need to be subscribed to the Game Pass Ultimate to enjoy the latest FIFA title for free.
Last year around the same time of the year, EA dropped FIFA 21 on EA Play and Xbox Game Pass, bringing a surge of new players to the title. FIFA 22 improves some new things compared to its predecessor, such as more realistic matches, the gameplay is intuitive, and the career mode has improved.
The next iteration of FIFA is expected to arrive sometime in September, and as usual, it will be titled “EA Sports FIFA 23.” But EA and FIFA have decided not to continue their licensing deal, which means soon the titles will drop the FIFA and be known as EA Sports FC from July 2023.
