Samsung discontinues software support for these two smartphones – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users will no longer receive new software updates. Samsung launched the high-end Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones in 2018 and the smartphone maker has now removed the smartphones from the list of devices eligible for future updates. Earlier, the company downgraded the two smartphones from the quarterly update schedule.
The South Korean smartphone maker removed the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ from its security updates page. The Galaxy S9 duo received the last security update in March 2022. Both the smartphones received a major software update in 2020.
Meanwhile, a recent online report suggests that Samsung has started rolling out Android 12 update for Galaxy M62 smartphone. According to a report by Sammobile, the Samsung Galaxy M62 users in Brazil, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The software comes with firmware version M625FXXU2BVC3. The update also brings a security patch for the month of March 2022 and some bug fixes, performance improvements and more.
With the Android 12 update, Samsung smartphones will also receive the new Samsung One UI 4.0 update. With the One UI 4.0, users will get improved stock apps, Material You dynamic colour themes, lock screen widgets, dedicated quick settings toggles for switching off camera and microphone access and new widget designs. The update is also claimed to enhance the security and privacy of the devices.
