Xiaomi unveiled MIUI 13 in December, 2021 in China. After its global debut, the custom OS will make its way into India on February 3.
MIUI 13 features
Xiaomi says that the MIUI 13 comes with enhanced security features and improved privacy. The company has introduced a three-step verification process for enhanced security. The first layer is facial recognition, next comes watermark reading of the user’s ID, and then comes the layer which is called“electronic fraud protection”.
Xiaomi says that facial recognition is not only limited to the user’s face. Instead, with this new feature the phone will be able to record everything from the waist up. Another feature coming with MIUI 13 is the “electronic fraud protection” that will save the numbers from the user’s phonebook and the user of the phone will be notified before accepting the call. But, this feature will also have a record of devices and websites that might bring in malware.
Xiaomi has also introduced a new font for the MIUI 13. It is free for users to download and is supposed to be a sans-serif font that looks to be more symmetrical for both spacing and the character appearance. The company claims that this font is expected to simplify letters, numbers and signs.
All phones with MIUI 13 will receive new wallpaper options along with new widgets that Xiaomi says are redesigned to align better in a grid.
