As part of the MoU, Tata Power and IIT-M aim to pursue advanced research in areas of future technologies and the tie-up also includes campus recruitment opportunities in full-time roles or internships to postgraduate students of IIT-M.
The agreement also entails research-based and consulting projects supported by the Centre for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), IIT-Madras.
Additionally, Tata Power employees and IIT faculty can also participate on each other’s committees and boards, the agreement notes.
Under this initiative, employees of Tata Power can also enrol for programmes like M Tech, MS and PhD offered by IIT-M after securing admission through due process.
Tata Power said it can also choose to make grants to support faculty research or to support students on scholarships and fellowships, and explore to work with the startup companies collocated in the IITM Incubation Cell.
