Xiaomi was rumoured to launch its upcoming smartphone Xiaomi 12 later this month. A previous report by Gizmochine revealed that the company is planning to launch the device on December 28. The publication revealed the details based on a screenshot of an internal document of Xiaomi China on Weibo. Now, Digital Chat Station suggests that along with Xiaomi 12, the company may launch Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones as well.
The company this week revealed that the Xiaomi 12 smartphone will feature the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset but we can’t confirm that all the devices in the Xiaomi 12 series will be powered by the same chipset.
Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro rumoured specifications
The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X are rumoured to sport AMOLED panels with curved edge design. The smartphones’ display is said to have Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The devices are also rumoured to have an under-display fingerprint sensor. The Xiaomi 12X is said to have a screen size of 6.28 inches. A previous report by Digital Chat Station suggests that the Xiaomi 12 will sport an anti-glare glass body. The report also reveals that the device will have a triple rear camera setup. It further suggests that the camera module will be positioned on the upper left corner of the rear panel. The Xiaomi 12X is also said to sport a similar design.
As per previous leaks on Chinese microblogging website, Weibo, the camera setup on the smartphones will consist of a 50MP primary camera customized from Samsung or Sony along with an ultra-wide angle paired with a periscopic and a telephoto lens. At the front, the devices are rumoured to come with an under-display camera for selfies and video calls.
According to Gizmochina, the Xiaomi 12 may feature the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, while the Xiaomi 12X may get the Snapdragon 870 chipset. According to previous reports, the Xiaomi 12 will come with a 100watt fast charging feature.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is rumoured to sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with curved edges and a centrally positioned punch-hole. The device is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was announced recently by Qualcomm.
