WORLDTR33: Exclusive Preview of James Tynion IV’s Terrifying New Horror Series

Writer James Tynion IV is practically synonymous with horror at this point, thanks to critically acclaimed books like The Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country and The Nice House on the Lake (the latter of which was nominated for IGN’s Best Comic Book Series of 2022). Now Tynion is back at Image Comics for a very intriguing new series called WORLDTR33.

IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of WORLDTR33 #1, which also features artist Fernando Blanco (Detective Comics), colorist Jordie Bellaire (Moon Knight) and letterer Aditya Bidikar (Grant Morrison’s 18 Days). Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:

WORLDTR33 follows a man named Gabriel and his friends, who in 1999 discovered a secret, evil part of the Internet called the Undernet and cataloged it on their message board WORLDTR33. But in the present day, someone named PH34R has broken into WORLDTR33 and begun leaving a bloody path of destruction.

“When I was young, I thought the Internet was going to bring us all together,” Tynion tells IGN. “W0RLDTR33 is the horror comic I started coming up with when it really started to dawn on me that the opposite was true. I think it might be the scariest book I’ve ever written, since it’s about what scares me the most in the real world.”

WORLDTR33 #1 is priced at $3.99 and is slated for release on Wednesday, April 12.
