windows 11: More Windows 11 users to get Android app store – Times of India

Last month Microsoft rolled out an Amazon app store that allows users to run Android apps on Windows 11 users. The feature was only available to users who are part of the Windows Insider’s Beta channel. Now the company has also released the update for users who are enrolled in the Windows Dev channel. The operating system’s ability to run Android apps was already revealed by the company in June.
Microsoft has partnered with Amazon and popular app developers to curate 50 apps for Windows Insiders to test and validate across a broad set of hardware. If you want to try out the android app on Windows 11, you first need to join the Windows Insider Beta or Dev channel. You’ll also need to set your PC’s region to the United States and to access the Amazon app store, you’ll need an Amazon account that is US-based.
Apart from this, you’ll also have to keep few system requirements in mind in addition to the Windows 11 base requirements. According to Microsoft, your PC needs to have at least 8GB of RAM, an SSD along with 8th-generation Intel Core i3, AMD Ryzen 3000 or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c processor or higher. If you are not a part of Windows Insider, you can run Android apps on Windows 11 through Windows Subsystem for Android.
The company claims that running Android apps and games on Windows 11 will feel familiar and you can easily run these apps side-by-side with the help of the new Snap Layouts feature. You can also pin them to your Start menu or Taskbar and interact with them via mouse, touch or pen input. Android apps are also integrated into Alt + Tab and Task view to quickly move back-and-forth between the most used apps. You can see notifications from Android apps notifications in the Action Center or share your clipboard between a Windows app and an Android app.
