The future of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck’s 2023 season remains unclear after he missed All Blacks selection.

The remainder of Tuivasa-Sheck’s season has come under question after the cross-code superstar failed to crack the All Blacks squad on Sunday.

Set to return to the NRL with the Warriors in 2024, it had been suggested that the utility back would reunite early with his former club.

However, Warriors coach Andrew Webster believes that Tuivasa-Sheck will see out his contract with NZ Rugby.

“I’m thinking about Roger for next year, I’m not thinking about Roger for now. I just want Roger to be happy for the rest of the year. If he is happy, I’m happy,” Webster told media yesterday.

Webster says there have been no internal discussions on the former Dally M Medal winner’s early reunion.

“Barring people in the public and media I haven’t heard anything. We certainly haven’t spoken to Roger about that.”

After making his high profile switch to union and his All Blacks debut in 2022, Tuivasa-Sheck made just seven appearances for the Blues this season, with MacDonald opting for Bryce Heem and Harry Plummer at second five.

The 30-year-old superstar will likely play out his season in the NPC with Auckland though his World Cup dream appears over.
