Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is back from the dead with an offer of refunds and a fresh batch of screenshots.
In a message to fans, publisher Paradox acknowledged it had been some time since the last update on the long-awaited but troubled role-playing game.
The sequel to developer Troika Games’ much-loved 2004 cult-classic RPG was announced four years ago and at one point was due out in 2020. But the game was heavily-delayed and its developer, Hardsuit Labs, suffered a number of high-profile exits.
In 2021, Paradox admitted it almost cancelled the project after ditching Hardsuit Labs, delaying the game indefinitely, and cancelling new pre-orders
Now, Paradox has announced it will show more of Bloodlines 2 this September, but in the meantime is offering refunds to anyone who has pre-ordered any edition of the game. It’s proactively refunding all pre-orders of physical products, including the Collector’s Edition, whereas the digital versions of the First Blood Edition, Unsanctioned Edition and Blood Moon Edition can be refunded if you choose.
“We acknowledge it was a long time ago that many of you pre-ordered Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2,” Paradox said, explaining the decision to offer refunds.
“As development continues, we will be updating the game’s editions and bonus content, and we want to provide the best value to those of you who supported us via digital pre-order after all this time.”
To tide fans over until September, Paradox released new post-alpha in-game screenshots, below.
