The Last of Us Reimagined As Mario Kart Featuring Pedro Pascal on Saturday Night Live

The Last of Us HBO series has gained traction faster than most people expected. Each episode that has released until now has made waves in the industry. Both players and people new to the video game franchise are in awe of the spectacular performances by the cast, as well as the immaculate depiction of the game’s theme and setting.

Promotions for the show are ongoing too, which adds to its popularity. Just a day ago, Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel in show, popped up on Saturday Night Live. Out of the various skits he was part off, one of them caught everybody’s eyes. This skit saw Mario Kart reimagined as The Last of Us and man was it a sight to behold.

In the video posted by the official Saturday Night Live Twitter account, players will see the adaptation of Mario Kart in another universe. The video kicks off with a random individual, approaching Pascal, who is suited up as Mario. The individual is requesting Pascal to help them smuggle contraband across the infamous track from Mario Kart, Rainbow Road.

Pascal embodied the role of the Italian plumber in a way that has never been thought of before. Pascal is then explained that the contraband he is smuggling is not an item, but actually a person and this person is none other than Princess Peach. Pascal is also informed by the individual that Bowser is the one behind Peach’s life.

The pair then takes off on the iconic kart, and on the search for allies, we seem them meet Mario’s brother, Luigi. Fans are later introduced to one of Mario’s age-old enemies, Goomba, who is depicted like one of the Clickers from The Last of Us series.
