Tears Of The Kingdom: Disaster In Gerudo Canyon Quest Walkthrough

Fetch quests have been a staple of gaming for so long that no quest system seems coherent without them. Tears of the Kingdom is no different in this regard, but most side quests in this game, even menial ones, are so well-implemented that it doesn’t feel like the same go-there get-that quest we’ve seen a million other times.

The Disaster in Gerudo Canyon quests starts just before the players enter the Gerudo Desert at the Digdogg Canyon Bridge near the Gerudo Canyon Pass Mini Stable. You’ll have to use contextual clues to find three lost travelers that have gotten lost out there in the wilderness. Or read a guide.

Where To Start The Quest

To start the quest, you’ll need to head to these coordinates (-1669, -2018, -0015) and talk to Quince and Nenea. Teleport to the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower then head southwest. Their camp is just past the Digdogg Bridge and before the Gerudo Test of Entry.

They’ll tell you three of their friends have gotten lost in the Gerudo desert. It will be Link’s job to find the lost travelers and bring them back to their friends.

Traveler #1: Botrick Location

Botrick, the first traveler, is standing inside a cave guarded by a Lizalfos just inside the Gerudo Canyon (-1513, -2232, -0018). You can reach the cave by walking straight from the Digdogg bridge.

Defeat the Lizalfos and walk inside to see Botrick hiding behind a rock formation. Talk to him, and two more Lizalfos will appear. Defeat the two Lizalfos and talk to Botrick again, and he will return to his friends. That’s one traveler down.

Traveler #2: Giro Location

Giro is located a little farther ahead in the canyon (-1895, -2356, -0001). Follow the main road into the canyon and make the right turn at the fork, and you’ll see a large smoke trail rising from the fire by the roadside. This is Giro sending a smoke signal to call for help.

Talk to Giro, and he will tell you he needs a Splash Fruit to regain his vigor and return to his friends. Give him a Splash fruit from your inventory to get him up and running and back to his group. That’s two travelers found.

Traveler #3: Garill Location

To find Garill, continue forward in the canyon following the main road until you see a river flowing inside a cave just after an archway. Follow the river to reach the Rakakudaj Shrine.

Climb the left wall of the canyon directly to the left of the shrine to reach the higher level. There, you’ll see another smoke signal being sent out by the last traveler. If you have some Zonaite to spare, you can create a hoverbike here to make this final stretch a bit easier.

Garill is sitting beside the fire (-2195, -1864, 0152). Talk to him, and he will request a Spicy Pepper. Hand one over to him, and he will become energized after eating some food made with spicy pepper. With this, all three travelers will have returned to their friends. Unlock the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower on your way back to collect the reward.

Quest Rewards

Head back to the Gerudo Canyon Pass to complete the quest. Arrive at the main camp of the group, and you’ll see that all the travelers you saved along the way have returned to the group. Interact with anyone in the group, and they’ll gather around and thank you for your efforts. You will receive 10 Bomb Flowers as a reward.
