Anupam Tripathi, the Indian actor who gained fame with the hit Korean show Squid Game, was seen rubbing shoulders with the likes of Will Smith, Andrew Garfield, and Selena Gomez at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2022.
The Indian star of the popular Korean web series Squid Game Anupam Tripathi recently attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) 2022. The actor took to his social media over the last few days to share pictures of himself meeting some of the biggest Hollywood stars around. His pictures with Will Smith, Andrew Garfield, and Selena Gomez left fans awe struck and impressed. Anupam and the rest of the cast of the Squid Game won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series at the awards. Anupam was one of the main cast members of the popular Netflix show Squid Game, which became a massive global hit last year. His character Ali was loved by fans and Anupam’s performance appreciated. Anupam is originally from Delhi and had moved to South Korea years ago for work.
On Wednesday, Anupam shared a picture of himself with Will Smith, where he wrote, “Few minutes talk with you will stay with me forever sir :-)Thank you sir @willsmith you are truly a Gentleman 🙂 you always inspire and motivate me to do better in life and in my job 🙂 a moment of lifetime which is going stay with me forever.” The following day, he shared another picture from the award show, this time with Andrew Garfield. “Tick Tick… Boom moment with Spider-Man,” read the caption.
On Friday, he shared a picture with Selena and wrote, “It’s always great feeling to meet the Rockstar #selenagomez. She was very kind and warm to click a picture with me when I asked her. @sagawards @selenagomez thank you happy happy”
Fans were in awe of the Delhi boy rubbing shoulders with Hollywood royalty at the event. “You won at life, my guy,” a fan commented on his picture with Will. “No way bro,” read a comment on the picture with Selena. Some fans even joked that given the huge hit his show Squid Game was, Anupam was a bigger name than some of them. “You are more famous than spider-man,” joked one fan.
In October, in conversation with Hindustan Times, Anupam had shared, “My journey from Delhi to Korea has not been easy, but it was fun. I enjoyed the lows as well as the highs. But I have to say that my roots in India and theatre days in Delhi helped me adjust in this different culture, and understand the language.”
