Square Enix Confirms Tokyo Game Show Lineup Featuring FFXVI

Japanese publisher Square Enix has revealed their Tokyo Game Show 2022 lineup, which will include Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Harvestella, Tactics Ogre: Reborn, Forspoken, and much more. The live stream schedule for Square Enix’s showcases is available to view on their official website.

With this year’s Tokyo Game Show now fast approaching, prominent publishers across the globe, such as Konami, Xbox, Bandai Namco, THQ Nordic, and Capcom, have started revealing their presence at the event with the latest news from their upcoming games. Square Enix, on the other hand, has just announced their lineup, including the direct sequel to the well-received Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The list of games that will be showcased in the Tokyo Game Show also features Forspoken, which was recently delayed to January 2023.

Following Square Enix’s confirmation of the above lineup, fans have set their eyes on Final Fantasy XIV to learn more about its plot, new gameplay elements, characters, and vast open world. The latest iteration of the iconic Final Fantasy series will launch sometime in 2023 exclusively for PlayStation 5.

As for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the game will take place years after the first game. The developer team has already revealed that FFVII Rebirth will maintain some successful aspects of the first game, such as a dynamic combat system that allows players to switch between characters in combat, an immersive story, and enticing graphics.

Square Enix also confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV, Crisis Core and the mobile remake of Final Fantasy Ever Crisis will be at the event. Additionally, the list of games being shown at TGS 2022 features Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.

Square Enix will also showcase plenty of role-playing games, which will launch later this year, such as The DioField Chronicle, Valkyrie Elysium, Star Ocean 6: The Divine Force, Harvestella, and Tactics Ogre: Reborn. We’re likely to get more details about the gameplay and story for the games above, while there will also be a live stream for Forspoken, an action RPG title that will release on January 24th, 2023.
