Sony PlayStation store is easily one of the biggest console platforms to buy titles. Most PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players opt to buy titles online, rather buying physical copies of them. Through the online purchases, users have been provided with top downloads for each month from PlayStation Store. The top downloads for the month of January 2023 are out now.
Dead Space, Forspoken, and Monster Hunter Rise all featured in PlayStation Store’s first top downloads chart of 2023.

PlayStation Store releases a list for all the platforms it has, which includes PS5, PS4, PSVR and even free-to-play titles. What’s more interesting is that all the titles that released in January 2023 were able to make it to the top 10 list of downloads this month, January releases include Forspoken, Dead Space and Monster Hunter Rise.
PlayStation 5
For PlayStation 5, in the US/Canada region, Grand Theft Auto V was first, with Dead Space second and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II coming in third. For the same region, Forspoken came in seventh, and Monster Hunter Rise came in ninth.
For the EU region, Grand Theft Auto V was first again, followed by FIFA 23 and then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II taking third again. Dead Space fell to fourth and Forspoken jumped up to the fifth position for this month. Monster Hunter Rise also jumped to number 6.
PlayStation 4
For the US/Canada region, Minecraft came in first, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in second and Red Dead Redemption 2 in third. For EU region, FIFA 23 took the first position, followed by Minecraft in second and The Forest as third.
PSVR
For PSVR, the first two titles for both US/Canada and EU Region are the same, with Job Simulator finishing first and Beat Saber finishing second. The third title for US/Canada region is Astro Bot Rescue Mission and for the EU region, it’s Batman: Arkham VR.
Free-to-Play PS5 and PS4
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 comes in first, followed by Fortnite in second in the free-to-play category. The third title for US/Canada is Fall Guys with Rocket League for EU.
PlayStation State of Play Might Arrive in March
In other news, in a recent conversation between Jeff Grub and Mike on the Game Mess Podcast, it seems as though, a new PlayStation State of Play event will be coming soon. Jeff Grub has stated that the event should come soon enough, but fans shouldn’t get too excited as this would be a ‘low-key’ State of Play compared to others. He also states that players can expect this event to arrive in a month or so.
PlayStation at Superbowl 57
PlayStation had teased that they would be showing up at the NFL Super Bowl. This was done through a GIF that was posted on the PlayStation Canada Instagram account, with an image of Mjolnir and a news ticker stating “Fimbulwinter at the Big Game?”. Many were wondering what this meant and now we know.
King Bach, popular comedian and influencer starred in the commercial where he came in as a news reporter stating that the game had come to a stop due to the unforeseen weather conditions. In the background, we see the stadium engulfed in snow and ice. He is then seen pushed off by Kratos and Atreus as they run towards the stadium to save the day.
