Slime Rancher 2: All Map Node Locations

Slime Rancher 2 relies on adorable environments filled with hidden-away secrets to keep players interested. The game even goes so far as to hide the world map behind clouds until the player has located several map nodes.

If searching for map nodes and data points isn’t for you (or if you’re beginning a new playthrough and forgot where they were) read on for the locations of all ten map nodes in the game.

Map Nodes In Rainbow Fields

Rainbow Fields, the area just beyond the Conservatory, has two map nodes. Both are near the Market link, although one is easier to reach than the other.

Map Node #1

The first map node is on the ground level as you approach the Market Link. It sits on the edge of the map looking out over the Slime Sea.

Map Node #2

The second map node requires looking up – it is located on a rocky outcrop just past the Market Link. To reach this node:

  1. Go through the tunnel opened by popping the Cotton Gordo into the beach area.
  2. Follow the wall on the right-hand side until you see a ramp.
  3. Follow the ramp up and around to the map node.

Map Nodes In Ember Valley

The map nodes of Ember Valley are the most difficult and dangerous to get without the jetpack. To reach two out of the three, you will need to navigate environmental hazards such as lava or ravines into the Slime Sea. It is not possible to unlock these nodes without first unlocking the jetpack

Map Node #1

The first map node of Slime Rancher 2 can be found in the second major clearing from the teleporter. It is located on a ledge on the right-hand side from where you come in (in front of the seashell rock). To reach it, take a geyser and jetpack over.

If you take the geyser at the far end of the ledge from the node, you can do this without the jetpack, however, this is the only node in Ember Valley accessible without any flight.

Map Node #2

There are two ways to reach this node. The first requires the least backtracking.

  1. Take the same geyser you did for the first node, but jetpack to the ledge to the Northwest of the geyser instead.
  2. Follow the ledge into a crevice.
  3. Go Left at the fork.
  4. Jetpack across three platforms.
  5. Go around the corner, here you should see the Crystal Gordo – the map node is just barely visible from here on the ledge to the left of the Gordo.
  6. Enter the cave on the other side of the river, and take the geyser up to the top level.

Alternatively, you can make your way to the cave by hugging the Northern Edge of the Island, then taking the geyser.

The geyser doesn’t quite get you high enough to reach where the map node is located. Jetpack up the rest of the way by hitting the jump button at the top of the geyser’s boost.

Map Node #3

For the final map node in Ember Valley, the jetpack is a must-have. Enter the lava area from the archway on the far side of where the first map node was.

Once you are in the right area:

  1. Navigate past the feral slimes.
  2. Use the geyser to get onto the rock bridge over the ravine.
  3. Walk to the tropical ledge on the left side.
  4. Look to the West to see the map node on a small elevated platform.
  5. Jetpack to the platform to reach the map node.

Map Nodes In The Starlight Strand

The three map nodes in The Starlight Strand can be obtained without the jetpack. However, getting them this way requires opening several Hidden Plort Doors as well as taking just the right path. For a less frustrating experience, unlock the jetpack before exploring this area.

Map Node #1

This map node is on an elevated ledge to the left of the clearing where the Honey Slimes first begin to spawn. You can jetpack around the clearing to reach the ledge, or you can approach from the other side of this outcrop and walk up the tree branch.

Map Node #2

The second map node is most easily reached by jetpacking onto the wall behind the teleporter, then flying across to the node. To reach it without a jetpack, you will need to enter the beach area and follow it all the way to the North side of the island, then take the spiral ramp up the rocky outcrop that it sits on.

Map Node #3

The final map node in this zone rests on a ledge near the Southernmost part of the zone on the pink side. To make it here without a jetpack would require navigating a confusing network of hollow logs and branches. However, with a jetpack these jumps become quite easy, and you can skip past sections of the log walkways.

Map Nodes In Powderfall Bluffs

The newest area in the game, Powderfall Bluffs is hidden behind a waterfall. After entering the zone there will be two map nodes to find.

Map Node #1

This node, located on the Northwestern part of the island, is on a red platform filled with trees. Reaching this map node doesn’t require any special paths, just a quick use of your jetpack.

Map Node #2

The second map node is best hunted for at night. You can find it on top of the mountain ridge behind the Saber Gordo. At night, you can take the disappearing mountain paths directly up to the ridge. If you choose to do this during the daytime instead, it will take a fair bit of jetpack Parkour to reach.
