Samsung has launched a new native app for its recently launched Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The Walkie Talkie app for the new smartwatches running Wear OS 3 allows users to use the watch as a push-to-talk walkie-talkie device.
The app currently works on Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic and both parties require Galaxy Watch 4 for the feature to work. Using the app one can create a channel and add other people to their contact list to engage in the conversation. Also, they will need to link the Watch 4 and the app via a Samsung account to use the feature.
According to the company, the setup is required with the watch connected to the smartphone and after the app can function independently. Also, there’s no official word from the company about the range and use case scenario of the new app.
