Poco has launched the smartphone that it trolled OnePlus Nord 2 for – Times of India

Poco F3 GT is here. The smartphone takes on OnePlus’ new premium affordable flagship, OnePlus Nord 2.
Incidentally, it’s the same smartphone that Poco trolled OnePlus for after the latter’s Nord 2 banners went live on Amazon website.
OnePlus’ banners on Amazon for Nord 2 5G say, “Everything you could ask for”. Taking on the same, Poco tweeted, earlier this month, “not your N-ordinary phone.” Below these lines is an image that says, “Poco F3 GT Pretty and a lot lot more. Coming soon.” The banner struck the words “much everything you could ask for” that are there in OnePlus Nord 2’s tagline.

Recently, the company also took a dig at OnePlus over the CPU throttling controversy that it faced recently. “We can’t lie, our battery just won’t die! That’s what makes the 5065 mAh battery one of the brightest stars shining in the #POCOF3GT. All for a powerful performance while consuming lesser power!” said Poco in a tweet.

Few weeks back, a report claimed that OnePlus has been quietly throttling certain apps on its OnePlus 9 series smartphones for to improve battery life and heat management, tweaking the performance of many popular apps to give them enough power. OnePlus too later confirmed this in a statement.
The company has now confirmed that this throttling also affects the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus Nord 2, but users will have the option to disable it.
How Poco F3 GT competes with OnePlus Nord 2
Poco F3 GT is the part of the company’s most-popular F-series of smartphones. The biggest common feature between the two smartphones is that they are powered by the same processor as OnePlus Nord 2, MediaTek’s flagship chipset — Dimensity 1200. The phone features a 5065 mAh battery while Nord 2 packs 4500 mAh battery. Both the phones offer 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB options. OnePlus also has a 12GB RAM option. Poco F3 GT is priced at Rs 26,999 onwards while OnePlus Nord 2 starts at Rs 27,999.
Among other specs, Poco F3 GT sports a 6.67-inch Turbo AMOLED screen with 120Hz Reality flow refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. For gamers, Poco F3 GT comes with Game Turbo mode and is equipped with GT Wi-Fi gaming antenna and three independent mics. The smartphone boasts of features like GT switches, Maglev triggers and tactical RGB light on the rear side.
