One Piece: Gear 5 Luffy Won’t Be Animated by Warner Bros.

A One Piece rumour was swirling around social media recently, claiming that Warner Bros. animators were teaming up with Toei Animation to bring Luffy’s Gear 5 chapters to life in the One Piece anime.

The rumour gained traction when an animator, presumed to be affiliated with Warner Bros., revealed on Twitter that he had sent his contribution of an undisclosed scene from One Piece to Toei Animation on May 16, 2023.

Fans, caught up in the excitement, quickly spread the news, declaring the collaboration between Warner Bros. and Toei Animation as a reality. However, the truth has now been laid bare.

Animator confirms he is not working for Warner Bros.

The animator in question, Ole Christian Løken, took to social media on May 31 to put an end to the rumours, clarifying that he is no longer associated with Warner Bros.

“some rumor went mental after i said i did a shot for one piece. since i have worked on WB stuff in the past, they did a big old spoon of assumption,” he wrote in an additional tweet.

Furthermore, Løken stated that he had worked on only one scene for One Piece, although he did not specify if it was related to any of Luffy’s Gear 5 moments.

Løken’s IMDB page reveals that he contributed to various projects, including films like Disenchanted, Song of the Sea, Space Jam: A New Legacy, My Little Pony: The Movie and The Breadwinner.
