As the latest addition to the ever-growing Comixology Originals library, Nostalgia has quite an interesting hook. This new limited series marks the comic book writing debut of Scott Hoffman, best known as a founding member of the band Scissor Sisters.
Nostalgia is a futuristic noir comic about a musician grappling with the arrival of a mysterious package and the truth behind its even more mysterious sender. The series’ creative team also includes artist Danijel Žeželj, colorist Lee Loughridge, letterer Steve Wands, designer Rian Hughes and editors Greg Lockard and Will Dennis.
With the first chapter of Nostalgia now live on Comixology, IGN can exclusively debut a preview of Nostalgia #2. Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:
“I culled a lot of ideas from my personal experience and the incredible 12 years I spent in the band Scissor Sisters (2024 brings the 20th anniversary of our first album!),” said Hoffman in a statement. “I also studied writing at Columbia University and am a big reader and fan of comics. Part of my intention with NOSTALGIA is to bring back my own nostalgia for an era of comics that I feel close to, particularly the 90s subversive Vertigo days—edgy, somewhat literary, more adult.”
New chapters of Nostalgia will be released weekly. Like all Comixology Originals titles, Nostalgia will be free to read for subscribers of Comixology Unlimited, Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading, and the series can also be purchased individually.
In other comic book news, Marvel is pitting Wolverine against the Predator, and Babylon 5’s J. Michael Straczynski has been tapped to write a new Captain America series.
