BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The 2022 Mid-South Conference Softball opening round begins Thursday with games at host sites around the conference.
The opening round is a best of three series and each opening round winner advances to South Warren High School in Bowling Green for the remainder of the tournament.
Second-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) (33-14, 24-6 MSC) hosts No. 11 Pikeville (Ky.) (14-34, 3-27 MSC) in a doubleheader on Thursday starting at 1 p.m. ET. The if-necessary game is scheduled for Friday. In the regular season, Campbellsville won all four games against Pikeville.
No. 3 seed Cumberlands (Ky.) (35-14, 21-7 MSC) hosts No. 10 seed Georgetown (Ky.) (15-29, 8-21 MSC) Thursday at 5 p.m. ET in game one. Game two is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Friday with the if-necessary to follow. Cumberlands went 4-0 against Georgetown this season.
Fourth-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (33-14, 22-8 MSC) hosts No. 9 seed Thomas More (Ky.) (17-27, 11-20 MSC) Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CT in game one. Game two is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT on Friday with the if-necessary scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT.
No. 5 seed Tennessee Southern (23-23, 14-18) takes on No. 8 seed Shawnee State (Ohio) (27-21, 14-18) with game one taking place at 5 p.m. CT Thursday. Game two is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT with the if-necessary game scheduled for Friday.
No. 6 seed Cumberland (Tenn.) (19-21, 14-18 MSC) takes on No. 7 Bethel (20-26, 12-20) on Friday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. CT. Saturday’s if-necessary game is scheduled for Noon CT.
