Moneyweb’s Small Business Conversations Podcast returns with a new host

South Africa’s trusted source for business and investment insights, Moneyweb, will be bringing back its popular Small Business Conversations Podcast with financial journalist Akhona Matshoba taking over as the new host and steering the conversation from February 2023.

The weekly small and medium enterprise (SME) focused podcast series, set to air every Thursday, will bring critical issues that affect South Africa’s small business environment to the fore.

Matshoba will interview SME entrepreneurs who’ve made it, as well as key players who know or influence the sector, to share their valuable insights and lessons.

Listeners can expect meaningful discussions on topics such as accessing finance, the impact of SA’s energy crisis, job creation, entrepreneurship, mental health, and the role of technology pursuing growth.

“We are glad to be relaunching the Small Business Conversations Podcast with the young and talented Akhona Matshoba leading the conversation,” says Moneyweb Editor Ryk van Niekerk.

“The weekly pod adds to our increasing bouquet of podcasts, as a leading source of both online and broadcast business and financial news,” adds van Niekerk.

New podcast host Matshoba says there is no better time than now to bring back the podcast, and she’s looking forward to having those critical conversations that make an impact for small businesses in SA.

“Moneyweb’s Small Business Conversations Podcast was first created in 2020, when SMEs were facing Covid-19-related uncertainty… This time around the sector is battling unprecedented levels of load shedding,” she adds.

Episodes of the Small Business Conversations Podcast will be published every Thursday on Moneyweb.co.za. Listeners can also download episodes from the Moneyweb website, the Moneyweb App, iono.fm, Apple podcasts and Spotify.
