Microsoft Xbox App Is Now Available on ARM Device Like Surface Pro 9; Brings xCloud Along

Cloud gaming seems to be the future of video games, and at the moment, it’s fair to say that Xbox is at the forefront.

With Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft has positioned itself to reach a massive user base, with players who can switch their progress on titles from console to PC and mobile devices.

While Xbox Cloud Gaming is available on most Windows, Android and iOS devices, the service still unavailable for a certain section of users. However, that won’t be the case for ARM64 users, as Xbox has announced an update that will change their fortunes.

Following the Microsoft Surface event, which saw reveals for new devices like the Surface Pro 9, Surface Laptop 5 and the Surface Studio 2+, Xbox announced that it was updating its Windows PC app to support ARM64 systems like the new Surface devices.

With the updated Xbox app, Xbox users on Surface devices will now be able to access their favorite games on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate through its cloud gaming service.

Microsoft has been pushing cloud gaming services through Xbox for a long while. However, in recent months the focus has increased drastically on providing the service to as many devices and platforms as possible.

Earlier this week, Xbox had announced that Cloud Gaming will be available for Meta Quest users, and currently, players can stream their favorite titles on devices like PC, phones, tablets, select smart TVs, and consoles like the Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox One.

Other than that, it will also be of use to players, who might be thinking about purchasing the Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld, which releases in North America on October 17 at $349.
