mesh: 3 ways Mesh in Microsoft Teams enhance your meeting experience – Times of India

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that it will introduce Mesh directly into Microsoft Teams next year. Mesh is a collaborative platform for virtual experiences and allows one to join collaborative and shared holographic experiences from different locations.
According to Microsoft, Mesh is designed to make online meetings more personal, engaging and fun. Here are three different ways Mesh will make collaboration personal:
Personalised avatars
With the Mesh integrated into Microsoft Teams, users will be able to join a standard Teams meeting as a customised avatar of themselves instead of as a static picture or on video.
With the customised avatars, users will be able to use eye contact, facial expressions, and gestures. It will also give users a chance to customize one’s visual appearance. They will also be able to add animations to bring additional expressivity to the avatars.
Immersive Spaces
Mesh for Teams will roll out with a set of pre-built immersive spaces. It will support a variety of contexts, from meetings to social mixers. In the future, organizations will be able to build immersive spaces – metaverses – within Teams. With these spaces, users will be able to interact using their avatars, collaborate on projects and experience those serendipitous encounters that spark innovation.
Immersive Spaces will also act as a tool to allow people to communicate and collaborate in addition to face-to-face meetings, chats, emails and video calls.
Freedom to connect from anywhere
Microsoft will allow users to access Mesh on HoloLens 2, VR headsets, mobile phones, tablets, or PCs. They can also use the Mesh-enabled app to join. This will help in connecting and co-creating with others from the comfort of any location.
