Mamata Banerjee expresses concern about BSF activities in West Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed concern about the increase of BSF’s jurisdiction from 15km to 50 Km and said that the BSF officials often enter the villages without informing state police in the bordering districts like Dinajpur, Malda and Murshidabad.

“Sometimes the BSF enters the villages and there are certain allegations of torture against them also. There should be interaction between the Director General (DG) of BSF with the state DGs, which will help resolve the issues. The jurisdiction of BSF has been increased from 15 to 50 kms. So, state police and police station In-charges should keep vigil,” Banerjee said.
