Live A Live Gameplay Stream to Feature Yoko Shimomura, Takashi Tokita

Square Enix will be holding a new live stream for the Switch remake of legendary JRPG Live A Live, with new details and gameplay.

Square Enix will hold on May 20 the first live stream for the Live A Live HD-2D remake on Switch. The stream will feature Yoko Shimomura, the composer of the original Live A Live on Super Famicom (SNES), and Takashi Tokita, the director of the original game, and producer of the remake.

The stream will be MCed by Penguins’ Nobuo, a comedian who regularly appears on Square Enix stream and most notably SaGa Series streams: he always has an Hawaiian shirt and a strident voice. Speaking of the SaGa series, it’ll also get a live stream on May 31, where a new console game should get announced, seeing one has been teased to be in development for quite a while now.

Live A Live Remake Stream: Schedule and How to Watch

The Live A Live stream will happen on YouTube starting 20:00 JST (7 AM EST), you can check it out below. Stay tuned as we’ll be sharing a summary of the live stream, with all the juicy comments shared by Yoko Shimomura and Takashi Tokita. Who will Rearrange the OST?

Besides some gameplay, we might get some information regarding which composers rearranged the tracks for the remake. When the Live A Live HD-2D Remake got announced on February 10, Yoko Shimomura mentioned on Twitter that she supervised all of the new soundtracks, but only rearranged a portion of the music herself.

Live A Live will be out exclusively on Nintendo Switch worldwide on July 22, 2022. One week later on July 29 there’s Xenoblade 3 coming out as well so this is bound to be an incredible summer for JRPG fans.
