Lindsey Wilson Selected as Favorites to Capture MSC Bluegrass Division Title

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) has been selected as the favorites to win the Bluegrass Division in the 2021 Mid-South Conference Football Preseason Coaches’ Poll, MSC officials announced on Friday.

The Blue Raiders topped the poll with 49 points and seven of the eight first-place votes.

Last season, Lindsey Wilson captured its fourth MSC Bluegrass Division title with a perfect 7-0 divisional record and an overall record of 11-0. The Blue Raiders defeated Northwestern (Iowa) 45-13 to capture their first NAIA Football Championship.

Georgetown (Ky.) is ranked second in the coaches’ poll with 43 points and the final first-place vote. The Tigers made an appearance in the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series. Cumberlands (Ky.) garnered 32 points and sits in third in the preseason poll.

Bethel (Tenn.) is fourth in the poll with 26 points followed by Pikeville (Ky.) who has 25. Thomas More (Ky.) sits in sixth with 23 points, Cumberland (Tenn.) is seventh with 18 points and Campbellsville (Ky.) rounds out the poll with eight points.

Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.
