Kodak launches 8 new TVs in India with prices starting at INR 10,499 | Digit

Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL) has announced eight new KODAK TV models for the Indian market. The line up is expansive and seems to offer good value on paper. The KODAK 9XPRO series, starting at INR 10,499, uses Realtek processors and boasts Android 11 support. Coming in 32, 40, 42, and 43-inch sizes, these TVs promise over 6,000 apps and games.

Next, the CA PRO GOOGLE TVs, priced from INR 27,999, feature 50, 55, and 65-inch models with 4K UHD Display and integrated Google services. Google TV is based on Android TV but has a smarter launcher that curates content based on user choice. It additionally also offers easier parental controls.

The 75-inch 4K QLED Google TV, retailing at INR 98,888, is the range’s heavyweight contender. QLED technology offers better brightness and color compared to traditional LED, thus offering potentially higher picture quality. Also, this model boasts of Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support, two technologies that significantly enhance sound and visual output, respectively, but their implementation is critical.

Dolby Atmos, for example, creates a 3D sound environment by adding an element of height to the sound mix. Dolby Vision is a popular HDR format that can apply HDR tone mapping on a frame by frame basis.

The new KODAK TV models have an attractive features list for competitive prices. We will need to review them to know if these models deliver on their promises and can hold their own in the competitive Indian TV market
