HP Has the Least Expensive RTX 4090 Equipped Gaming Laptop Around

HP is offering a GeForce RTX 4090 equippeed HP OMEN 17 gaming laptop for under $2600! This is an absolutely monster of a gaming laptop, and if you shop around, you’ll see that almost every other RTX 4090 gaming laptop cost well over $3000 (and most cost over $3500). This is even more of an excellent price if you also consider the fact that the laptop’s also equipped with the newest 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700HX Raptor Lake CPU and a higher resolution 17″ 2560×1440 QHD display.

HP OMEN 17t RTX 4090 Gaming Laptop for $2559.99

To get this deal, you’ll need to follow the instructions below. The base config is just a standard HP OMEN 17t laptop with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD, but the specs are customizable. Just recently, HP has allowed this config to be upgraded with an RTX 4090 GPU. In order to add the GPU, you also need to add the Intel Core i7-13700HX CPU and a higher resolution display (both justifiable complements to the 4090). Once you have added all the upgrades, simply proceed to cart and apply the new 10% coupon code for April.

How powerful is the RTX 4090 GPU?

Let’s just say the RTX 4090 makes hardcore gaming on a laptop possible. The RTX 4090 is the most powerful mobile GPU ever, and by a huge margin. The HP OMEN 17 supplies up to 175W to the GPU. That means this is probably the fully enabled RTX 4090 GPU with a 150W TGP, not the gimped 80W version. It’s roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 3090 GPU.

These GPUs are only worth it with higher resolution displays

Although there are some 1080p laptops available, we think an RTX 40 series card is wasted on such a low resolution. That’s because the current RTX 30 series cards can handle this resolution beautifully already. The sweet spot is QHD (or QHD+) because it’s still noticeably sharper than 1080p on a 16″-18″ display and isn’t as graphically demanding as native 4K. Even still, you’re going to appreciate the extra power that the RTX 40 series GPU offers to drive the higher resolution.

Mobile RTX 40 series GPUs also support DLSS 3.0

RTX 40 series cards also support DLSS 3.0, which is essentially DLSS 2.0 plus frame generation. For games that support it (like Cyberpunk) this is a massive FPS increase over even DLSS 2.0. It’s pretty much a necessity on ray-traced modern games.
